T F - As you have noticed here, opinions are as personal as our bikes. As for me, I much prefer the comfort a shield provides (I have a handlebar mounted National Cycle screen). It reduces the air blast/pressure from your chest area and diverts it over and around me making my type of riding (backroad touring) much more comfortable and relaxing. One thing you as a rider can do to avert some of the high pressure wind gusts such as when a semi passes in the other lane is to move over to the right hand side of the highway until the offending force has passed then move back over to your more normal road position.
